The Dukes of Dixieland were formed in 1948
by two teenagers, Fred and Frank Assunto
(pictured here) and their father, "Papa Jac."
Audio Fidelity records gave them massive publicity
in the late 50's, and the public liked them. Jazz
critics, howevever, found them too commercial.
I love them, and this album with Louis Armstrong
is one of their best. The album was recorded in
1960.
