Mel Torme made many great albums with arranger Marty Paich. This is my favorite, perhaps because I have always loved Fred Astaire. People remember Fred Astaire as a dancer, but he was perhaps the only person who ever had Irving Berlin, George Gershwin and Cole Porter writing songs for him at the same time. Nobody introduced more great songs than Fred Astaire, and Mel picks some of the best for this album.
