I adore Ella Fitzgerald, but if I were stranded on a desert island with only one Ella album, I'd want this one.  Her voice has just reached maturity, and Ellis Larkins' deft piano accompaniment accents her talent perfectly.

This material was originally released on two 10" LP's, "Ella Sings Gershwin" (1950) and "Songs in a Mellow Mood" (1954).
