Second Paper Topics
Please write about one of the following.
Don Coldsmith's Child of the Dead contains two plot phases. The first phrase comprises the first two-thirds of the book and primarily concerns Running Deer. The second phase is the last one-third of the book and primarily concerns Gray Mouse. Discuss how these two plot phases are linked thematically. Be as specific as possible in illustrating your points with details from the book. If you choose this topic, your paper is due by 9:00 a.m. on October 17
The Body of Christopher Creed is categorized as a novel for young people. The question is "how young"? Discuss the issue of age appropriateness in this novel. For whom is it appropriate? For whom is it not appropriate? Be as specific as possible. Of course you will inevitably use your own value systems in considering this question. However, you must also be sensitive to larger cultural norms and expectations. Once again, illustrate your points as specifically as possible with details from the text. If you choose to write about this topic, your paper is due by 9:00 a.m. on November 5.
