I am a computational biologist at the Department of Developmental Biology at the University of Pittsburgh. A large part of my work revolves around working with different labs in the Department for analyzing large-scale genomic datasets generated in the Department including, but not limited to, bulk and single-cell RNA-sequencing, whole genome/exome sequencing, ChIP-sequencing, etc. For example, two recent areas of focus have been studying the pathogenecity and etiology of hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) from mouse models with the Lo Lab, and characterizing doublets in single-cell RNA-seq data with the Kostka Lab.

Brief Background: After my undergraduate training (Mathematics and Computing) from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India, I did my PhD with Martin Vingron at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics, Berlin, Germany. This was followed by 2 stints as a post-doc, first with Takis Benos at University of Pittsburgh and second with Sandrine Dudoit at UC Berkeley.
