The project in this course is for you to design and implement a webpage about the topic of your choosing. The project will be split into 4 parts. Part 1 focuses on steps 1 and 2 of the Design Process.
Due Date and Time
Project Part 1 is due by 5:59pm on February 14th, 2019. I will disable submission at the start of class.
Instructions
Setup
- Download the exercise files from the Box Folder named CS0134-P1-<username> that I shared with you.
- Unzip and copy the ‘CS0134-P1-<username>’ folder onto your flash drive.
You will notice that there are no files here other than one named empty. Empty exists in order for the Box folder to download correctly. You will be creating step1.txt and step2.txt below.
Goals
Each goal is worth 5 points.
You will need to create step1.txt and step2.txt. You can do this in Notepad++
- In a file named step1.txt, answer the who, what, where, when and why questions for your website idea. If the idea is for a personal interest, answer these questions based on who you are and what qualifies you to write this website. If the idea is for an imaginary or real organization, answer these questions as if you were the organization and what qualifies them to write this website.
- In a file named step2.txt, define your target audience and site goals.
How to Submit Your Work
Upload your step1.txt and step2.txt files to the ‘CS0134-P1-<username>’ Box folder.
Note: When you want to upload a new version of one of your exercise files, click on the file in box and select “Upload New Version”.
I highly recommend that each time you work on this or any other exercise, that you upload your files to Box even if you are not done with the exercise. In this way, if something happens before the submission deadline that keeps you from uploading the finished exercise, there is still something to be graded.
