MAJ Buck Bollinger was born in San Jose, CA where he grew up until his enlistment into the United States Air Force in 1984. After serving 6 years as a Jet Engine Mechanic MAJ Bollinger enlisted into the Army in 1992. He attended Army schools at Ft Leonard Wood, Ft Sam Houston and Ft Jackson, SC.
MAJ Bollinger attended Officer Candidate School in 1993, following graduation and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant he served as a Platoon Leader for the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Ft Carson, CO. Other assignments included Executive Officer in Korea, Assistant Battalion Operations Officer and Company Commander at the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) located at Ft Campbell, KY. MAJ Bollinger later served as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at The University of Colorado-Boulder.

Awards and decorations inclued the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Achievment Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon and the Joint Unit Meritorious Award. MAJ Bollinger is also Airborne and Air Assault Qualified.

Education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's of Science Degree from Chapman Universtiy in Orange, CA.

MAJ Bollinger is married to the former Theodora Stuart and has 2 children, Christopher and Kaylea.
