MAJ Matt Gebhard was commissioned as an Infantry Officer through the ROTC program at McDaniel College, where he was Captain of the college Swim Team. His past assignments have included Ft. Benning, GA., Germany, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bosnia, and most recently an assignment with the 7 th Regiment, 1 st Marine Division in Iraq. His duty positions have included Rifle Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader, Assistant Operations Officer, Detachment Commander, Company Commander, and Headquarters Commander.
He holds a Master of Education Degree from Duquesne University, and his military schooling includes the Airborne Course, Infantry Officer Basic and Career Courses, Bradley Fighting Vehicle Leader Course, Infantry Mortar Leader Course, Ranger Course, and the Psychological Operations Officer Course.
