I grew up listening to Stan Kenton. He was by no means the most popular bandleader, but his fans were fanatics, and my dad was one. He and other Kenton admirers luxuriated in Kenton's big sounds and daring chords. Stan Kenton, along with the Nat King Cole Trio, was among the first recordings artists signed by the newly formed Capitol Records in 1942. This album is from the 1950's.
