Engr 1050 Product Realization (Fall 2002)

Course Description:

This interdisciplinary course will focus on the diverse aspects of the product realization. These (depending on the specific project) include: defining user requirements, the creation of a computer based model and designs of a product from an existing product, and the fundamentals of rapid prototyping, and the development of a manufacturing plan. Working in multidisciplinary teams, students from engineering and business will take a product from concept to manufacturing. Real industrial problems will be selected that will require the composite knowledge of all team members.

Course Objective:

Allow students to become familiar in the multidisciplinary aspects of product realization and provide them with hands-on experience in the product design process.
