An archer for every embrasure.
The baronial youth archery champion defends his home.
It's best to teach them combat archery when they're still young.
The garrison has struck out to meet the enemy in the open field. It seems that the castle in undefended. But ho! The brave women and children of the BMDL remain to defend from the battlements! (Larger image)
Urho, our local archery marshall tries shooting from the battlements while Amanda, Robert, Mistress Arianna, and Muirgen watch.
When the archers are on the top tower, and the photographer is at the base, you can barely see anything but the bows. I guess this means that the crenellations are working.
The photographs are somewhat improved if the photographer walks up a nearby hill and uses maximum optical zoom. Muirgen and Baroness Ariella shooting.
Arrow in flight.
It's important to retain a sense of just how high up they are.
