Results of the analysis of glass from two salvage projects that took place in the Centro Histórico in Mexico City. The first was the old Estanco de Tabaco, known as the Ciudadela, which currently houses the Mexico Library; the second is the current headquarters of SED, and consists of buildings that in the past housed a convent and the royal customs offices. These buildings have been continuously occupied from the time of their construction in colonial times to the present, and during restoration varied materials were recovered, including glass. Study of this glass has deepened our knowledge on glass, from its discovery and distribution in the Mediterranean to its arrival in New Spain. In Spanish.
