Max Uhle's fundamental role in the formation of modern archaeology in South America is unquestionable. His research and interpretations have made him an indispensable source for modern archaeologists. Uhle's investigations were not only in archaeology but also extended to linguistics, ethnography, and ethnohistory. This volume contains papers presented at an international symposium in Peru in 2006. They represent a critical evaluation of Uhle's contributions made possible by the cooperation of colleagues all over the world. The twenty articles cover sites in Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador, where Uhle worked, as well as his contribution to Americanist archaeology. In Spanish.
