Cultural Studies Reading Group: Mikhail Epstein

February 7, 2010

Volodia Padunov and the Slavic Language program at large will be hosting in March a prominent Russian cultural studies scholar, Mikhail Epstein. Selections from one of Epsetin's books will comprise the next Cultural Studies reading group.

We are going to read about 100 pages of excerpts from a book called Transcultural Experiments: Russian and American Models of Creative Communications (Palgrave, 1999). Although not new, this will be a good point of entry for us in his critical discourse. The book is out of print, so we are going to make the excerpts available on our website by Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the latest.

The reading group will take place at the Cultural Studies Director's house, at 7:30 pm, on Sunday Feb. 7. Please write to the Cultural Studies Program Assistant to express your interest in attending the reading group: csaus@pitt.edu
