Begin browsing the tables of contents of Inorganic
Chemistry looking for articles of interest. Select three
that represent a topic that you might want to research
further. Full citation and summary paragraph due January 25 |

Jan 21 through Mar 8 |
Spend this time researching your topic. Locate and read the leading
references for the article that you selected. Search the literature
for other papers by the same authors and for other papers related to your
topic. Begin building a working bibliography, developing a thesis
statement and summarizing your lead papers.
If the first bibliography is ready before February 22,
turn it in! If the summaries are ready before March 20, turn them in! |

Meet with Dr. Bell by Friday 2/8 to discuss your topic (based on the summaries). |

to add references and even modify your thesis/outline if you find new
information. Once you have the general structure of you paper, you can
concentrate on the best way to build your arguments. Feel free to ask
questions. If the draft is ready before March 27, turn it in! Rewrite due
