Engineering is one of the few proffesions that don't have to do the same job over and over again. They have the training and the skills to work on many different types of jobs. This is one of the reasons why I am interested in Engineering. You have the freedom to move from one job to another without having to do much additional training
Because of there Versitility there are many careers that an Engineer can have. This is a little list that shows what some of the careers are.
Mechanical engineers work on a variety of projects. The projects range from tools to machines and everything in between. The engineers do almost everything with their projects. They research, develop, design, and manufacture whatever it is that they are working on. As a mechanical engineer, I will work on power producing machines such as engines, power using machines such as refrigerators and air-conditioners and many other everyday machines.
Mechanical Engineers use computers to help them make more accurate calculations and visual aids of what they are designing. I will be using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to successfully design and manufacture many products once I become an engineer.
Mechanical engineering is the broadest discipline of engineering. Because of this, I have the opportunity to work in a variety of different settings and to work on many different products while being a mechanical engineer. There are options such as Automotive design, plant engineering and maintenance, materials, energy systems, pressure vessels and piping. There are also many positions in these areas. They include manufacturing, maintenance, and technical sales. Most mechanical engineers are administrators and managers.
