WEAVING

Tapestry is woven to fit panels of screens, over-mantels, wall decorations, and to cover chairs, stools, and sofas. Prices according to design; from I5 shillings per square foot. The work is the same on both sides. Stair carpets are made in thick tapestry from I5 shillings per yard. Panel. 'Saint Brendan' size 21 by 15 ins. £1 - 10. Panel, 'A voyage to Tir-na-noge' size 26 by 36 inches, £5 - 5. Screen, 'Sunset' mounted in Irish chestnut, £5 - 5.

The tufted carpets vary in width, weight and texture, as well as in colour and design. The designs are all in keeping with the tradition of Celtic ornament though they are quite new.

White rug, design of peacocks and flowers, size 2 by 4 feet, £2 - 2. Altar carpets, size 4 feet 7 inches by 8 feet £7- 7, like the one made for Donnybrook Church, in green, with emblems from 'The Book of Kells' and border of grapes and wheat, another design, blue with design of lilies in white and grey, green scroll, size 6 by 4 feet, £5 - 5.

EMBROIDERY

Church banners 33 inches by 2I price £4 - 4, designed by Jack B. Yeats, Mrs. Jack Yeats, AE, & other artists. Twenty four banners of Irish saints have just been completed for Loughrea Cathedral.

The designs for the embroidery are all new, they are by AE, Jack Yeats, Mrs. J. Yeats, Miss Yeats, Miss P. Colman Smith & Miss E. Yeats. Portières, one design of seagulls on blue monk's cloth, £5 - 5, another design of peacocks on white Galway frieze, £5 - 0. Cradle quilt on white linen, £3 - 13 - 6, design of roses in delicate pinks and greens, mottoes on the hem, and lined with silk. The same design on blue linen without mottoes, £2 - 10. Sofa backs 6 feet long, £2 - 2, one design of anemones, another of peonies and blackbirds.

Cushions, background all darned in silk, tulip design, £ 1 - 5, carnation design, £1 - 10, grape design, £2 - 10.

Motto for over fire-place, apple boughs with scroll on which are words from 'The Land of Heart's Desire' by W. B. Yeats, framed, £5 - 5. Panel, orchard in blossom, 54 by 19 ins. framed, £3 - 3.
