The data files SURVLOTS.TXT and SURVLOTS.XLS contain data on all survey lots located on the corresponding maps. SURVLOTS.TXT is an ASCII text file; SURVLOTS.XLS contains the same data in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. Each line represents one survey lot. There are 5,727 lines in the text file, each with 16 variables separated by commas. The variables are, in the following order:

| Key: A combination of series and lot number for a unique text-string identifier for each lot (corresponds to the text strings with which lots are identified on the maps) | |

| Vegetation density: D=Dense; M=Moderate; E=Sparse; N=None | |

| Number of sherds of Barranquilla Buff | |
| Number of sherds of Guacas Reddish-Brown | |

The first line of the ASCII text file, for example, looks like this:

This indicates that the data are for Series 84, Lot 2, with a text-string identifier of 84_2. The lot is in the western survey zone and pertains to field site number VP2, the density of vegetation was not recorded in the field, and the sherds are from a shovel probe. There were no Mirador sherds, no California sherds, 137 Barranquilla sherds, 6 Guacas sherds, 5 Lourdes sherds, 3 Planaditas sherds, no Tachuelo sherds, no modern sherds, and no unclassified sherds.
The last (5,727th) line of the ASCII text file is:
VK,262,VK_262,E,425,D,P,0,0,1,0,0,0,0,0,0
This indicates that the data are for Series VK, Lot 262, with a text-string identifier of VK_262. The lot is in the eastern survey zone and pertains to field site number VP425, vegetation was dense, and the sherds are from a shovel probe. There were no Mirador sherds, no California sherds, 1 Barranquilla sherd, no Guacas sherds, no Lourdes sherds, no Planaditas sherds, no Tachuelo sherds, no modern sherds, and no unclassified sherds.
