Wednesday
12-1:50 pm
Meet first
in FH 205E
(we will
sometimes meet in FH 107)
Welcome
to the web site of the Ethnobotany Freshman Cluster! We will be learning
a little about the daily lives of Seneca Indians in our area in the
past. We will be researching how the Seneca Indians used local plants
for food, myths, and crafts among many other uses.
We will be
reading two stories of native american life. One is a true story about
Mary Jemison, an immigrant from Ireland that was captured and sold to
the Seneca Indians. To read a synopsis of her life, click
here
If
you are a student in my class, please email me! Let me know what you
want to learn about the Seneca Indians, and how they used plants.
Thanks
for visiting & we'll add more to this site as the course progresses.

Native Americans made
fantastic canoes. Further north of Bradford, many canoes were made
with the bark of the white (paper) birch tree.
