Dr. Wayne received her BS degree in Engineering Science & Mechanics from Virginia Tech (summa cum laude), her MS in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University, and her PhD in Engineering Sciences/Bioengineering from the University of California at San Diego. She has spent the last 12 years at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia as a faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She is director of the VCU Orthopaedic Research Laboratory which encompasses a biomechanics division and a molecular/biochemistry division.
