Abstract:

The quest for improved techniques for the reconstruction of knee ligaments has led to a better under standing of the anatomy, biomechanics, and healing properties of these ligaments. The reconstructive surgeon of today must understand the key principles of normal ligament function in order to restore the injured knee to a satisfactory level of performance. In this lecture, we will review recent advances in knee ligament research, with an emphasis on pertinent clinical applications.
