Finite Element Circus, Fall 2012

Location and Times

The Friday session will start at 1:30pm, while the Saturday session will start at 9am. Both sessions will be held in the Cathedral of Learning, room 324.

Circus Dinner

A dinner is planned at 6:30pm Friday night at the William Pitt Union, Kurtzman room. The dinner is free, but please indicate whether or not you wish to attend when registering to help the organizers have an idea how many people to expect.

A block of 40 rooms are reserved until September 26 at the Holiday Inn at a University reduced rate of $135 per night plus tax. Parking is $18 per day. Please provide the group code FEC when reserving a room.


The Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is 20.5 miles away from the University of Pittsburgh (25-45 minutes driving time depending on the time of day). There are several options to get to campus from the airport. See this link for general driving directions to the University of Pittsburgh.


If you need to park on campus, you might want to park at the following garages:

Lunch on Friday

There are several lunch options for those who arrive early on Friday. I personally recommend Ali Babba (Middle Eastern), Peter's Pub (American), Fuel and Fuddle (American), or the Spice Island Tea House (Asian). The locations of these restarants are given in this map.
