This is a two semester
course for students whose major is in the Natural Sciences. The
first semester of the course provides beginning students with an
introduction to the basic concepts of biology. Topics include cell
structure and function, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, Mendelian
genetics, taxonomy and evolution. The second semester of this course
deals primarily with animal diversity, behavior and function. A
variety of animal systems are covered with an emphasis on human anatomy
and physiology. All students will participate in an Ecology research
project and present their findings at the end of the term. |
