Course Description:           This is the first part of a two semester course in introductory biology.  It is intended for science majors and will cover basic concepts necessary for other upper-level courses.  Areas covered in this course will include molecular biology, cellular biology, genetics and taxonomy.

Student Evaluation:          Students will be graded in three different areas.  First, quizzes and exams will be given in class throughout the semester.  The material for quizzes and exams will come from lecture notes, textbook reading and other material assigned during the course.  Second, assignments will also be assigned during the semester.  Third, class participation will also be assessed.
