Muscling In
Exercise promotes healthy bones and muscles. However, overdoing exercise can lead to injury or muscle fatigue. Today we will be exercising the muscles in our hands until the muscles overtire.
Open and close your fist as many times as possible
in one minute and record the number of closings. Repeat the activity four more times and record the number of
closings each time. Fill in the chart
for you and your partner.
How does your hand feel? Did it feel different during the activity? What happened the last
time you recorded the activity? Did the
number of closings go up or down? Why
do you think that happened?
Did your partner close his fist more or less times
than you? Why do you think that happened?
