Victoria Malloy has decided that her  2105  term project will be related to her Master's thesis, which is an investigation of the feasibility of utilizing recycled glass as an ingredient in Portland Cement Concrete.

My CEE 2105 project topic is a portion of my thesis.  I will be studying
the feasibility of using glass as a replecement for sand and cement in
concrete.  I will be comparing green, amber, clear, and a color mixture of
glass.  The sand will be replaced by a mixture of glass that passes the
1/4" sieve and remains on the #100 sieve.  The cement will be replaced
with two different sizes.  The first is glass passing the #100 sieve and
remaining on the #200 sieve.  The second is glass passing the #200 sieve.
Each size will be tested at three replacement percentages: 5%, 7.5%, and
10%.  The concrete test cylinders (6" long and 3" diameter) will be tested
for compression strength after 3, 7, 21, 28, 56, 90, and 120 days and will
be compared to a control mixture that does not contain any glass.  A total
of 370 test cylinders will need to be made.
