I am Pierangeli Rodriguez and I am 18 years old. I am the only girl and the last of four siblings. I was born and lived my whole life in Caracas, Venezuela, the most beautiful country in the world; unfortunately, I had to leave, and change my home to a very nice city: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I studied in one of the best schools of my city, where I learned lots of things, academically and non-academically, and where I made everlasting and unbreakable friendships.
Moving here was one of the toughest things I have ever made, because I had to leave behind everything that I had, had built or ever was, and say goodbye to my friends, with whom I have spent my last 15 years, to never know when I am seeing them again.
Coming from a family of engineers, I decided to study Materials Science and Engineering because I am interested in materials interactions in a subatomic level, as well as different processes and reactions between different materials. I have always enjoyed studying chemistry, physics and math, and that lead me to select my major, but I also like the humanities and enjoy studying new languages, and the arts, particularly architecture and painting, as well, as stained glass and glass modeling (arts that I have always liked and practice in some occasions).
So, though I like to study science and I do my best for it, as a human being I think it is important to keep cultivating the humanities, in particularly lectures of good materials that help our self-development.
I also like to practice some sports, particularly swimming and Squash, though I also like ping-pong. Regarding watching sports, I love to watch hockey, football and baseball, being a devoted fan of the 3 Pittsburgh teams (the Penguins, the Steelers and the Pirates).
