Abstract: I compare recent derivations of Bell-type inequalities from Reichenbach's principle of the common cause with the claim that "experiments verifying the violation of Bell's inequality would doom locality tout court" (Maudlin 2002, p. 20). The comparison brings to the fore how "locality" can be analyzed into postulates about the existence of causes as well as spatio-temporal restrictions on their effects. I use a theory of causal regularities in order to explore the consequences of such an analysis.
