Operationalism and the Epistemology of Discovery in Experimental Psychology
Uljana Feest is an assistant professor in philosophy at the Technische Universität, Berlin. Her work focuses on the epistemology of experimentation (especially in cognitive psychology and neuroscience) and HOPOS (especially the intersection between psychology and philosophy of science in the 19th and 20th centuries). She is also interested in methodological issues concerning the integration of history and philosophy of science. With respect to this question, Uljana recently co-edited a special issue about historical epistemology (Erkenntnis, forthcoming). Before starting her current job at the TU Berlin, Uljana was a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Berlin (2003-2006). Before that, she was a graduate student in history and philosophy of science at the University of Pittsburgh (1997-2003). Uljana likes to spend pleasant summer evenings on the porch with her friends and a glass of wine. She also likes dancing, country music, and contemporary fiction. During her time at the Center, she will complete her book manuscript (a distant descendant of her dissertation), tentatively entitled Operationism and the Epistemology of Discovery in Psychology. Pittsburgh is one of her favorite places in the world and she is very excited that she will to get a chance to spend time there during the academic year of 2011/2. |
