Inquiry into the Foundations of Neuroeconomics
Mikaël Cozic is an Assistant Professor at the University of Paris-East and a Fellow at the Institut Universitaire de France (2013-2018). His work focuses on formal theories of rationality (especially rational choice theories) and the methodology of economics. At the Center for Philosophy of Science, Mikaël will work on the methodological issues raised by a recent field called “neuroeconomics”, which combines concepts, methods and tools from economics, psychology and cognitive neuroscience. Most of these debates have revolved around the issue of knowing whether neuroeconomics’ scientific achievements are relevant for economics. Mikaël will address the two specific issues of knowing whether neuroeconomics may be evidentially or explanatory relevant.
