Kevin McDade

 

 

Kevin McDade is the manager of the Behavioral Immunology Laboratory’s biology/immunology lab, overseeing all the immune assays conducted in the lab.  Kevin is responsible for processing all biological samples collected from participants in the various research studies currently being conducted in Behavioral Immunology Laboratory and other sites.  He also assists with grant budget write-ups, protocol development and statistical analysis for the lab’s numerous collaborators.  Kevin has been the manager of the wet lab since July 2005. 

 

Before managing the Behavioral Immunology laboratory, Kevin worked at the Thomas Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh for five years as a research specialist.  In this position Kevin adapted cytokine genotyping protocols for analysis of transplant tolerance mechanism studies.  He has recently completed his Masters of Science in Biology with a thesis focus on comparative genomics in xenotransplantation.

 

Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife Amyjo and their twin 1-year-old daughters.  He is also currently enrolled in a part-time certificate training program at Pitt with the Department of Biomedical Informatics.
