Course Description

This course is divided into two parts. The first part of the term will deal with codes and the second part will deal with information theory. IS2120 places a greater emphasis on mathematics than most courses in the IS department. Students should be comfortable with notions of elementary probability, matrix multiplication, and summation/subscript notation.
