It was a wonderful six days for Murph and me.  Well, not 24/6, but close.  We made it to Norwich
with only one turn (22/30 onto 76; one turn onto 81 North, and 12 to Norwich).  While we had
practiced stacking and gaiting at home for the Show Futurity, the ring was another story.  Murph
just didn't like it; she  hated it ! I wasn't real happy with the jacket and tie routine either.  We
started lined-up with the rest of our class and Murph promptly puked.  Once more half-way around the ring and then she was better.  The judge was very nice to us. She told me to listen to her and we would improve our performance, and we did.  By the end we were gaiting OK and ended up in the middle of the pack.  Enough of that !

HVBC put on its Spring Trial and we ran in the AWGD.  Murph put down a nice race.  She had two backs in the woods and a broke find in the open fields.  Not enough to win but we were both
certainly happy.  In the Field Futurity she had only one back and really opened it up with some big casts; pretty run, but not enough. The reporter had some "technical difficulties" with the recorder and had to make do with her written notes, so she failed to mention Murph's back of Jambi's one find.  She did  comment on Murph's nice forward race though.

The location was beautiful and the people were all very nice.  It was a huge event with over 150
dogs that were some of the best, and the handlers too. It was very well run considering the size and Darlene deserves a big ATTA-GIRL !
