Welcome to my home
page! I am a Professor of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ). I
received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and History from Clark University
in 1988. I earned an M.A. in Social/Organizational Psychology from Temple University
in 1992. I received my doctorate from Temple in 1995.
Teaching and Research interests: I have taught courses in Introductory Psychology, Social Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Theories of Personality, Research Methods, and Statistics. I have also taught advanced seminars on Technology and Social Interaction and on Prejudice and Stereotyping.
My main areas of research involve how people
interact with technology. Most recently, I have been examining how people
perceive disabled users of computer synthesized speech. To see a list of my publications, click here.
I am an advocate of undergraduate research experience. In 1998, we had our first annual Laurel Highlands Undergraduate Psychology Conference here at Pitt-Johnstown. To date, hundreds of undergraduates have participated in this event.
