In designing a questionnaire some people add 2 extra items with a completely different wording of an existing question. These items called 'sleepers' or 'lier catchers' are suposed to provide with 'internal validity' for some important questions.But they enlarge the questionnaire and if the responder realizes that he is being asked the same question twice he may elect to refuse to provide further answers
