Many people thought that the hypnotized subject merely wants to satisfy the hypnotist, will go along with this little parlor trick, but there�s some recent evidence suggesting that there�s more to it. To tell you this story, I�m going to go through a bit of a complex experiment conducted by David Spiegel, who�s a psychiatrist at Stanford, and his collaborator, Steve Kosslyn and colleagues, in Boston. And they studied a model system and showed that hypnosis can alter how the brain processes color vision signals.
