Change in Age-adjusted Heart Disease Mortality in Japan by Sex

Heart disease (HD) mortality started to decline in 1970, 5 years after stroke mortality started to decline.

Although cancer mortality has been almost stable, the decline in cardiovascular disease mortality was so substantial that Japan got the position of the highest longevity society from 1980.
