The role of anger in the onset and
course of cardiovascular disease is gaining attention in both the scientific literature
and in the popular media. I am not quite sure why that is.maybe we are becoming a more angry society, maybe we are expressing anger more, or maybe we are witnessing a paradigm shift. Perhaps we are shifting to a research paradigm that more readily recognizes and includes the role of psychological factors in disease..psychological factors such as personality attributes and emotions, for example. Maybe the influence of Cartesian dualism is lessening and this paradigm is slowing being supplanted by a more inclusive theoretical model. Just recently, the New York Times devoted 1/2 page to the topic of anger and mens health. |
