COVID-19 Summary
•The
disease has spread to a total of 104 countries.
•The
696 cases reported of the Cruse Ship “Diamond Princes,”
demonstrated that around 50% of the cases are asymptomatic.
•A
lot will be learned about how the COVID-19 spreads by the
data generated from the cases on the cruse ship.
•The
Grand Princess is being docked at the Port
of Oakland because of its proximity to an
airport and a military
base. U.S. passengers will be transported to military bases
in California, Texas and Georgia, where they'll be tested
for the COVID-19 virus and quarantined.
•Fences
were being installed at an 11-acre site at the Port of
Oakland, as authorities readied flights and buses to whisk
the more than 2,000 passengers aboard the Grand Princess to
military bases or their home countries for a 14-day
quarantine. More than 3,500 on the ship hail from 54
countries. Out of 1,100 crew on the ship, 19 of have tested
positive.
•Lab-confirmed
cases have been reported from Africa.

the disease spreads widely in Africa it will be a major
disaster.

in Pakistan & India are of serious concern due to their
large populations and already overburdened healthcare
