Mrs Smith is an 89 year old woman, she lives with her daughter in her own home. She has good health. She sustained a fall on 31st December when she tripped over a loose carpet.This resulted in a fractured neck of femur. She was admitted under Orthopaedics Team A on 1st January 2002 as an emergency, operated upon on 2nd January with Pin and plate. Discharged walking and partly weight bearing on 12th January 2002 to a Residential home for six weeks and to return to her own home thereafter.
