My Biography

I grew up in the city of Pittsburgh and am a product of the Pittsburgh Public School district (I graduated from Brashear High School).  I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh in 2005.  While I went to Pitt, I participated in American Chemical Society-Student Affiliates where I participated in outreach programs and did a lot of tutoring.  I was also in the Pitt Band where I played the flute (I kept the section from becoming the Piccolo section for 3 years ;-)  I am currently working towards an M.Ed degree at Pitt.  I currently hold an intern teaching certificate in Chemistry in the state of Pennsylvania.  I am currently a member of the American Chemical Society and an Alumni and Life member of Tau Beta Sigma, a national honorary band sorority   I also plan on pursuing graduate studies in physical chemistry with a concentration in chemical kinetics.  My personal interests include playing musical instruments (flute, violin, and mallet percussion), reading, baking, and craftwork such as sewing, crocheting, and other such projects.  One interesting fact about me is that I come from a very large family.  I have 8 brothers and sisters and I happen to be the eldest.
