A State of the Art Technology / Earth Science Workshop

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, in conjunction with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is offering an interdisciplinary workshop on integrating technology in K-12 Earth System Science curricula.

 
 

Program Objectives:

  • Provide hands-on training and experience in applied environmental problem solving through:
    field work
  • Lab practicals
  • Application of space-based positioning technology
  • Develop K-12 curricula and learning activities that apply state of the art positioning .mapping and information technology in the study of earth systems science

 

Program Focus / Participant Selection Criteria

  • Open at a national level to all pre-service and
    .in-service teachers
  • Workshop size limited to 16 participants
  • Motivated, energetic individuals who wish to grow professionally
  • Major selection criterion is the potential for integration of the program materials into the participants' instructional activities
  • Educators who teach Earth Science to communities under-represented in science.education.
  • Women and minority educators strongly encouraged to apply
