Welcome to the my research group website.

Alexis Kwasinski's research interests are in the broad areas of power electronic systems, distributed generation, and critical infrastructure resilience, with emphasis on:

  • Distributed generation (microgrids)

  • Resilient power supply
  • Lifeline interdependencies
  • Effects of natural disasters on critical infrastructure (particularly electric power and communications).
  • Power electronics systems: circuit design and controls

  • Smart grids
  • Efficient electrical energy conversion and storage

  • Renewable and alternative energy

  • Motor drives

Dr. Kwasinski is particularly interested in analyzing the effects of natural disasters on critical power infrastructure, such as communication networks power supply, and studying ways of reducing the vulnerability of these critical power infrastructures to such extreme events.

Dr. Kwasinski's background is in telecommunications power systems. He values research in practical applications based on sound theoretical analysis and experimental verification.
