For Teachers and Professors
University and College Professors
The Center for American Music is happy to host classes in our library and museum and to provide materials to exhibit and utilize during your classtime. If the library and museum are too small for your needs, we can also arrange to have materials transferred to the University of Pittsburgh's Special Collections on the third floor of Hillman Library or the Archives Service Center on Thomas Boulevard to better accomodate you.
K-12 Teachers
The Center for American Music offers a variety of tools geared toward teachers. The first is our curriculum support guide, Voices Across Time, which allows secondary teachers to integrate historic American music into their classrooms. In addition to the curriculum support guide, we also offer biennual five week summer teaching institutes to instruct teachers in the techniques at the of the program.
