University of Pittsburgh The Center for Comparative Archaeology seeks to foster comparative research in archaeology by publishing primary data from archaeological fieldwork, tightly connected to analysis and interpretation that tell us about ancient societies. Detailed data are published open-access online in the Comparative Archaeology Database. Analysis and interpretation appear in journal articles and in short, focused monographs published by the Center itself. The Center also publishes collections of papers that are strongly international and comparative. Most publications are bilingual. Some of the Center's publications are numbered volumes in three series: Memoirs in Latin American Archaeology, Latin American Archaeology Reports, and Arqueología de México. All of the Center's publications are available for sale in traditional paper book form as well as in digital form as PDF files, which can be downloaded free from our catalog. Inquiries from prospective authors are welcome. Further information for authors and guidelines for manuscript preparation are available on line. To encourage international scholarly dialogue, the Center distributes books and journals, primarily on the archaeology of Latin America, published by institutions in Latin America and elsewhere:
