The Morona-Santiago archaeological collection from the Ecuadorian Amazon, housed at Universidad Politécnica Salesiana in Quito, was been formed through the years mainly from materials gathered by Salesian missionaries in the Upper Amazon, north of the Marañon River. The volume includes an introduction to the archaeology of Ecuadorian Amazonia; a short presentation of the archaeology of Morona-Santiago province; a report of an excavation dating to the 1950s at the Chiguaza site, near the Pastaza river; and an annotated catalog of the museum collection, including line drawings of pottery.
