  Brief Bio

  I reside in Marshall Township, PA just outside Cranberry with my wife, Jamie, and three children: Anna (born May 2006), Jackson (born October 2008), and Lincoln (born July 2011). It is the case that each time my wife was pregnant, the Steelers had a Super Bowl season: Anna - Super Bowl Xl with a win over Seattle (Anna celebrated Ben Rothlesberger's touchdown in utero), Jackson - Super Bowl XLIII with a win over Arizona, and Lincoln - Super Bowl XLV with a loss to Green Bay (I promise not to hold this against him). My wife Jamie is an analyst for FedEx and has been awarded the company's highest award, the Corporate Five-Star Award for Excellence.
  
  
  I was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia. As such, I am a bit of a local. I remember sitting dejected on my mother's living room floor (with my World Series ticket in hand) when Sid Bream scored the winning run for the Atlanta Braves in the 1992 NLCS against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  
  
  My research interest are primarily in Additive Combinatorics, but more generally in Combinatorial Number Theory. Beyond Combinatorics and Number Theory, other areas of interest include: Graph Theory, Operations Research, and Algebra. A list of publications can be seen through the above link. I have won an award for my research, won three teaching awards, and been a finalist for teaching awards five other times.
  
  
  In addition to teaching classes, my professional activities include writing reviews for the American Mathematical Society and serving as the Calculus 2 liason for Pitt's College in High School Program. Additionally, I am an active member of the Allegheny Mountain Section of the Mathematical Association of America. Though not a professional activity, I am an avid homebrewer.
