My name is Marko Melishchuk and I am currently a student at the University of Pittsburgh double majoring in Information Science & Computational Social Science. I grew up in South Philadelphia and have recently finished my second IT internship with the City of Philadelphia.
Currently I'm applying to graduate school and am hoping to work in network engineering or cybersecurity after I graduate. I am open and likely to work at least part time while I am in a masters program and am hoping to stay close to Pittsburgh.
Over the past two summers I have started on my professional path I interned with the City of Philadelphia in their Licensing and Inspections department as a GIS data analyst, as well as in the Office of Innovation and Technology's project management office.
Most recently I worked in two labs at the University of Pittsburgh and in them have gained a great amount of design and research experience. My goals for that time were to learn how to do research and learn how to solve complex real world problems from scratch before I go into a masters program.
My current goals are to learn as much as I can about cybersecurity and L2 & L3 network engineering. To work towards that I'm currently enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh and am taking courses in the Information Science core as well as the Computational Social Science core along with the part of the Computer Science core that I've already completed.
