Purpose

The Model United Nations Club serves as a vehicle through which students can prepare for and participate in international relations competitions, notably Model United Nations simulations. In these competitions, each student assumes the role of a delegate form the country they are assigned and represents the foreign policy for this country.

Pitt MUN

The University of Pittsburgh’s Model United Nations club provides students the opportunity to learn about and discuss today’s most relevant issues of international diplomacy through participation in an academic simulation. Pitt Model United Nations is a long-standing club at the University of Pittsburgh. The club prepares and competes in Model United Nations conferences throughout the year. Through the conferences, our club members have the opportunity to gain knowledge on current events, international relations, and countries’ diplomacy.

Pitt MUN is also dedicated to hosting and administering our annual PittMUN high school conference. We have been providing Model UN experiences to high schoolers for more than a quarter of a century!

Each member of the club also has the opportunity to chair for numerous high school Model United Nations conferences. Pitt MUN holds its own high school conference annually and members have the chance to lead entire committees. Members may also have the opportunity to chair at Duquesne University and Westmorland Community College during their high school conferences.
