Becky (Levine) Leibowitz

Dr. Woo, I hope you and your family are well and that you are still enjoying your work at Pitt. I am enjoying my work at ETHICON; I have been here over 11 years adn my intellectual curiosity is still being satisfied. For the past few years I have been working in the Biosurgery business unit, which develops surgical sealants and hemostats, composed of both natural (like cellulose), biologic (fibrin sealants) and synthetic (cyanoacrylate) compounds. I develop the delivery devices for these products, collaborating with the chemists to figure out how to help the surgeons deliver the "goos adn glues" to where they need them> one of my favorite parts of my job is sitting at my desk wiht cardboard and odds and ends, inventing new devices. Reminds me of when I sat at my desk at the MSRC in Lab 5 putting together cardboard and rubber band models of ligaments to demonstrate heterogeneous properties...

My family is well - my sons are 5 and 7 and keep me very busy after work.
